The Commons at Calabasas is a charming Mediterranean-style retail and entertainment village comprising over 200,000 square feet. The regional center is strategically located in the San Fernando Valley (approximately 25 miles northeast of downtown LA) and has become the gathering place of choice for locals and their families, combining "Old Town" aesthetic charm with modern shopping and entertainment attractions.
With lavish landscaping, fountains, outdoor sculpture, and al fresco dining, The Commons has been embraced by the community for giving Calabasas the downtown core it never had.
The Commons at Calabasas takes advantage of an affluent population and tremendous regional accessibility, located within close proximity to business and residential concentrations as well as interstate transportation. It offers freeway visibility and convenience in a richly landscaped setting not found elsewhere in the San Fernando Valley.
The project is recipient of two of the most prestigious design awards in the country: the 1999 Urban Land Institute's Award of Excellence for a Retail Project, and the 2000 International Council of Shopping Centers' 24th International Design and Development Award for "Innovative Design and Construction of a New Project".
