Inspired by the scale and small-town feel of Myrtle Avenue in Monrovia, The Shops at Santa Anita will create a welcoming town center in the heart of Arcadia, providing unique outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment amenities adjacent to the region's most iconic landmark, the historic Santa Anita Park Racetrack.

The project will be built on the acres of unused parking lots south of Santa Anita Park, property currently designated for commercial development in Arcadia's general plan. The proposed design which was approved by the Arcadia City Council April 2007, includes 825,000 square feet on a 60-acre parcel, 24 acres of which are made up of richly landscaped open space. Open space elements include a spectacular 3.5-acre lake surrounded by a picturesque boardwalk, along with lush, park-like settings and promenades where people can walk around, relax, and enjoy each other's company in a beautiful outdoor environment.

The Shops at Santa Anita will build on the rich heritage of Santa Anita Park Racetrack, while creating an expanded and more exciting regional attraction that is one-of-a-kind.
