Executive Vice President – Asset Management & Specialty Income
In September 2007, Mr. Burgner originated the new Asset Management and Specialty Income department for Caruso Affiliated. This new department is responsible for the traditional asset management function with an emphasis on developing and building new revenue sources and business relationships utilizing all of the company’s assets (excluding tenant leasing). This includes the development and growth of the company’s specialty income businesses for on-site advertising and promotion, specialty leasing, sponsorship, and revenue producing marketing events.
In this position he works with the entire Caruso portfolio to maximize long-term financial performance, property composition and market position; as well as with properties in development to maximize specialty income and long-term financial performance.
Mr. Burgner has over 25 years experience in real estate development and management. He started his career in real estate development where he developed and managed industrial, R & D, hotel and retail properties. In 1992, he was responsible for the management of the community and neighborhood shopping centers owed by The Irvine Company. In 1995, Mr. Burgner joined Caruso Affiliated as Vice President of Operations and has overseen the operations of the properties as Senior Vice President, Operations during the last ten years.
Mr. Burgner received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and his MBA from the University of Southern California where he belonged to the honorary Beta Gamma Sigma Business Fraternity.
